Chammak challo
If you are in my general proximity you have likely already been subjected to my effusions about the dance classes I’ve been doing more or less weekly for the last year or so – and when I say dance class, I really mean more like an hour of danc-y cardio (for those of you who are spooked). How much dance and how much cardio is kind of up to your personal level of comfort getting in there and breaking it down. Wina (my dancing partner in crime) and I, of course, have no shame and it’s soooo much fun.
Suffice to say, if you live in Bloomington, give it a try! Panache Dance, on the southside – Winslow and Henderson. Hip-hop on Wed @ 5:30; Bollywood on Sat @ 9a – more info at their website. I can give no higher recommendation than to say it’s 100% worth it every Saturday morning regardless of sleep, weather or amount of caffeination. They also have Zumba on Mon and Tues at 6p if you’re more into that.
Here’s the latest track I can’t get out of my head – as I understand “chammak challo” is Hindi slang for, more or less, a flashy, easy girl – kind of like a hot piece of ass, not to put too fine a point on it. If someone has a more accurate translation, please let me know in the comments. Whatever, the song is crazy catchy. For the Bollywood nerds out there, you’ll have a little Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor to enjoy also:

And no, I don’t know why they looped the video twice, but since I always end up listening to it more than once at a go, I figured that was a bonus! 🙂
